Book Summary

Joda: The Girl Who Lives Out of a Suitcase is a whimsical, soulful picture book about a girl who loves to travel—both through the world around her and the world within.

Joda is always on the move, carrying a small suitcase filled with tiny treasures and big memories from every place she visits. She loves discovering new lands, meeting kind strangers, and collecting the quiet magic of each moment.

But one day, amid her adventures, Joda stumbles upon something unexpected—her own thoughts. A little voice that whispers, wonders, and sometimes worries. When she pauses to feel her breath, her thoughts appear beside her like tiny, glowing friends. She realizes that, just like everyone else, she can get caught in her thoughts—but by seeing them clearly, she learns how to let them go.

She doesn’t stay in one place—but she grows in every one.

Tiny treasures, big memories.

A story of going far—to grow close to herself.

“For children who’ve ever felt in-between, for families who live on the move, and for anyone learning that belonging often begins within—
not just in any particular house, or one country, or one place, but in the quiet spaces between them.”
